To provide high-level skills in the maintenance and repair of automotive and grounds maintenance equipment. Responsible for performing mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of automobiles, trucks, tractors, grounds equipment, shuttle buses, vans, and emergency generators..Performs diagnostic procedures using a computer analyzer to detect motor trouble and analyze motor performance on all equipment.Maintains and repairs vehicles and equipment to include; main and connecting rod bearings, clutch plates, differentials and transmissions, brakes, front-end work, motor overhauls, and air conditioning systems.Other duties include the testing of campus emergency generators.Welding and brazing repair duties as needed.Drive a UTA vehiclePerforms other duties as assigned.#LI-DNI#LI-DNP.High School diploma with three (3) years of experience in basic automotive maintenance and repair or the equivalent experience.Valid Texas drivers license required..Experience with operate machines and equipment used in the automotive mechanical trade to include the following:computer analyzer, Carmon exhaust system, acetylene torch, arc welder and Freon recovery system.Basic computer skills, including but not limited to MS Outlook, Work and Excel.
