To provide animal husbandry for the humane care and treatment of all research animals in the central UT Arlington Animal Care Facility and remote satellite facilities..Perform daily (some weekend and holiday work will be required) animal health checks and report any abnormal animal conditions to the veterinary technician and facility manager.Change animal caging, to include feed and water, according to Standard of Procedures (SOP) and/or specific approved protocols and the schedule established by the floor supervisor.Clean and sanitizes animal facility, equipment, and assigned rooms according to SOPand#x2019;s.Maintain daily animal census sheets, room equipment and status form sheets, and other forms requested by the facility manager.Complete additional duties as assigned by the facility manager..High School Diploma or GED with one (1) year of experience in the care of animals in a laboratory facility..Certification as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
