JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION SUMMARYOur U.S. Venture People Resource team is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to administer a weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies in multiple states ensuring accurate and timely payments to team members. In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local tax laws. It will also provide customer service on payroll related inquires. The ideal candidate will office from our Appleton, WI headquarters with an in-office expectation of 2-3 days per week. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Administers bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies in multiple states ensuring accurate and timely payments to team members Collates and verifies data entries into payroll to ensure accuracy Creates and tests new earning and deduction codes Manages relationship with third party tax service provider Coordinates unemployment rates for each company and each state Monitors and resolves stop and stale dated checks Manages state and local tax set ups as well as tax amendments Processes car, bonus, commission, Certify and other payments Processes child support and garnishment payments Assists corporate accounting in the month-end and year-end closing processes, allocation changes, and reporting Audits and reconciles payroll records including W-2s and payroll taxes for compliance Prepares a variety of payroll related reports, policies and controls Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly Researches and stays informed on IRS changes and payroll trends including new technology solutions Guides and mentors Payroll and Benefits Coordinator; delegates work assignments appropriately Audits short-term disability payments and paid time off payouts for terminated team members QUALIFICATIONS Minimum high school diploma plus 3-5 years of related payroll experience Proficient use of Excel, Word, and Outlook Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines Possesses high degree of integrity and confidentiality U.S. Venture requires that a team member have and maintain authorization to work in the country in which the role is based.
