Summary This position is located at Fort Indiantown Gap MWR Food and Beverage Department. Responsibilities Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing. Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment. Cleans other work areas and equipment, such as worktables, floors, walk-in refrigerators, etc., on an established cleaning schedule. Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food. Prepares food, Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items, Mixes ingredients according to precisely written recipes, and makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess. Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable: 1. Neatness and good grooming. 2. Dependability. 3. Ability to work under pressure. FWS Allowances and Differentials This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
