Oracle Linux System Administrator in Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Job Description
An experienced consulting professional who has a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.
Must currently hold and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly Clearance.
Candidates must be willing and able to perform System Administration on both Windows and Linux systems
Experience with all facets of Linux system administration to include:
RedHat / CentOS / Oracle
Management of: Users & File Systems, Backups, Patches, Security, Networks
Hardware administration/trouble shooting/installation
Software installation, administration & trouble shooting
Performance tuning
Bash/Perl/etc. scripting
Git/Docker/Puppet
Windows System Administration experience (nice to have):
Experience writing and maintaining Windows batch jobs
Build Active Directory domain servers
Create Windows Templates
Experience writing Windows Powershell scripts
Experience with all facets of administering a production system:
Management of: Users & File Systems, Backups, Patches, Security, Networks:
Hardware administration/trouble shooting/installation
Software installation, administration & trouble shooting
Performance tuning
System Monitoring & Health monitoring & Trouble shooting
Use of customer’s: software repositories, authentication services, network services, COOP facilities, SSP & asset management systems
System accreditation processes:
System hardening
Preparation for penetration and vulnerability testing
Professional skills:
Effective communications skills & documentation skills
Ability to work with large team of developers
Ability to manage a small team of administrators
Willingness to take direction
Willingness to interact with customer watch facilities
Understanding/appreciation of customer mission requirements
Responsibilities
Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.
Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.

US: Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
