Oracle Consulting Software Technical Manager (US-GDI) in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Job Description

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.

  • Create, track, and maintain detailed project schedules. Work with project team to understand and assist with tracking all work, task, and project assignments.

  • Establish and apply standard processes to ensure successful implementation of solution designs through collaborative project team communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution.

  • Participate in project meetings and manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments.

  • Lead changes to build Encryption Libraries and Key Management Services

  • Work with other IC members to gather system / project requirements and develop and implement solutions.

  • Understanding and use of agile methodologies for software engineering projects.

Required Experience

  • At least 8 years as a Software Engineer/System Engineer

  • BS in Computer Science or related field (or 8 years of equivalent work experience)

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients

Other Desired Skills, Education, or familiarization

  • 8 or more years experience with Java or Python

  • 8 or more years experience with modern development management

  • Deep understanding of Agile methodology

  • 8 or more years experience with encryption with a deep understanding of key management

  • 5 or more years experience with REST APIs

  • AWS experience

  • React.JS experience

  • Containerization and Kubernetes experience

  • Strong analytical solving and performance evaluation skills

  • Ability to work in matrix environment and partner with virtual teams

  • Understanding/appreciation of customer mission requirements

  • Must be an effective team member with strong communications skills and the ability to follow-through, stay motivated, and collaborate with all team members.

Required Qualifications:

Technical Manager leads experienced consulting teams and responsible for the day-to-day implementation and operations aspects of the system for high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget. Develops detailed design of Oracle IT capabilities which may involve integration with third party products and/or GOTS capabilities. This includes designing, implementing, testing, and deploying more complex extensions or configurations needed to address customer unique business processes and workflows. Works on substantive and unique issues that identifies risks and risk mitigations. Develops methods, techniques and evaluation criteria providing functional and technical experience on on-premise, cloud, and hybrid based solutions.

US: Hiring Range: from $88,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
