Summary

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research, the world's largest archive of social science data, is now accepting applications for two Data Project Assistants to assist with outreach, website support, and project management. One will work for theNational Addiction & HIV Data Archive Program (https://www.icpsr.umich.edu/web/pages/NAHDAP/index.html) (NAHDAP) and the other for theChild and Family Data Archive (https://www.childandfamilydataarchive.org/cfda/pages/cfda/index.html) (CFData).

You will report to Chelsea Samples-Steele (NAHDAP) or Rachel Huang (CFData) and work in the Perry Building.

Responsibilities*

The major responsibilities include:

Outreach and User Client Communication

You will assist with a variety of outreach-related tasks, including answering user support inquiries, reviewing and processing restricted-use applications, and contacting data users as their data use agreements are about to expire or terminate. You will also assist with data sharing activities including planning, promoting, and hosting data webinars and workshops, developing website announcements, developing and posting social media content, planning conference exhibits, and creating new dissemination-related resources.

Website Content Support

You will assist Project Managers and work with the ICPSR Web team to develop new content for the project website and keep website content updated. You will also help plan and create data resources and other website content, web announcements, and Google Analytics dashboards for monthly and quarterly reports; help expand the Bibliography of data-related resources; and conduct periodic website testing.

Project Support

You will assist Project Managers with multiple project management tasks, including: documenting and tracking project activities; creating progress and usage reports; assisting with project sponsor inquiries; reviewing deposited data and documentation to ensure deposits are complete and ready for curation; and coordinating data curation with ICPSR's Curation unit. You will also work on a variety of special assignments.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years (1 year for Senior Level) of related experience

  • Experience with or general knowledge of statistical processing software such as SPSS, SAS, or Stata

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with social science, health, or education data

  • User support or customer service experience

  • Experience working in a research setting

  • Experience producing content for external audiences
