Software Architect

Job Purpose:

As a Software Architect - .Net, you

will be designing and delivering solutions that scale to meet the needs of some

of the largest and most innovative organizations in the world. You will work

with team members to understand and exceed the expectations of users, and

constantly push the technical envelope and helping CSOD deliver great results.

Working in an agile software development framework as an Architect, focused on

development sprints and regular release cycles, you’ll own the complete

technical solution of the application along with other Architects, help design

solutions & mentor juniors.

In this role, you will…

  • Work in a global team, delivering SaaS software on private or public cloud, delivering value to stakeholders in an iterative way.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance .NET applications and services to contribute to our legacy and cloud platform, across the entire technology stack, including ASP.NET, C#, .NET, React, Typescript, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure.

  • Take functional and technical requirements as your baseline for developing maintainable and cost-effective software solutions. This involves alignment with the internal architectural communities of practice and delivering guidelines and base software components for the Engineering team.

  • Display technical thought leadership through identifying and executing on patent filing opportunities for solution patterns / paradigms / process.

  • Improve architectural decisions and components based on feedback from engineers, other architects, product management, DevOps and other involved parties.

  • Conduct technical reviews (e.g. code and documentation) to ensure that architectural blueprints are applied correctly, and the blueprints match the functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Communicate technical decisions in various formats (Presentations, Demos, Documentation) to the engineering community, communities of practice.

  • Work closely with all teams including QA, DevOps, IT, Security, Product and be a point of contact for them for technical questions.

  • Mentor, Inspire, and encourage other engineers to adopt frameworks and best practices.

  • Value opinions from other team members and work closely with the members who understand product functionalities, customer requirements and the domain well.

  • Define internal and external interfaces (e.g. APIs, bulk loads) and partner with engineers to do the implementation.

  • Participate in release planning, sprint planning, and technical design reviews; provide input as appropriate.

  • Provide Proof of Concept implementations for complex software requirements.

  • Improve developer efficiency by working together with various technical stakeholders and improve automation inside the company.

  • Collaborate with the product team and the wider organization to plan, design, and scope new initiatives and features, and identify opportunities for enhancements.

  • Own your code – and mentor team members in owning their code – all the way to production, including continuous deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and provide leadership and mentorship to other software engineers.

  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide detailed RCA.

You’ve Got What It Takes If You Have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of web-based application development experience using ASP.NET, C#, .NET.

  • Strong in OOP and SOLID principles along with industry standard design patterns and practices.

  • Hands-on mentality, being ready to code and optimize solutions.

  • Strong understanding of data persistence and retrieval performance (queries, caching). Able to optimize designs/queries for scale and work on performance optimizations in all application layers.

  • Proficient experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server/Postgres. Exposure to other non-relational DBs like MongoDB is a plus!

  • Experience architecting and developing cloud based Microservices, RESTful services, or other SOA development experience (preferably AWS) using .Net technologies.

  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills, a keen sense of ownership, and a detail-oriented mindset.

  • Working knowledge of advanced front-end development frameworks and platforms, React knowledge is a plus

  • Very good debugging/troubleshooting capabilities and ability to identify and communicate root causes.

  • Good understanding on secure development practices and proactively codes to avoid security issues.

  • Conversant in algorithms, software design patterns, and their best usage. Passion for continuous process and technology improvement

  • Experience in working on projects public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud, etc. AWS

  • Good team player with the ability to handle multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversight.

  • Ability to effectively manage and correctly prioritize multiple streams of work.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and project details.

  • Experience delivering software in a Lean or Agile environment.

  • Architect Certification preferable.
