Job Description

Summary

This Instrumentation & Controls Construction Support positionapplies Instrumentation and Controls technical knowledge to resolve construction-stage Requests for Information and Technical Queries. The selected candidate will receive RFIs and TQs and resolve them on behalf of the NANA Worley I&C engineering and design team, working largely independently. This position may also support other I&C engineering and design team duties as assigned.

This position is intended for execution from the NANA Worley offices in Anchorage, Alaska, USA. Hybrid remote-office locations may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Independently applies technical knowledge of Instrumentation and Controls codes and standards, engineering principles, equipment characteristics, installation methods, and specifications to resolve RFIs and TQs with infrequent reference to the Engineer of Record or other NANA Worley I&C team members.

  • Interprets complex vendor data or drawings for conformance with project requirements to resolve construction-stage problems.

  • Proficiently operates computer systems and applications as needed to resolve questions.

  • Consistently demonstrates

  • skill in structuring assigned activities, applying creativity and teamwork as needed to complete tasking within schedule;

  • good communications skills with client, construction stakeholders and I&C design and engineering team members;

  • good understanding of client and stakeholder needs, operational efficiencies, and decision making processes.

  • Other duties as assigned to support I&C engineering and design activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in Alaska as an instrumentation/controls engineer, designer, technician, or related position.

  • Minimum of one year of construction support experience which required resolving Requests for Information or Technical Queries.

Preferred

  • Applicable Arctic/cold weather experience.

  • 3-D modeling experience

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability:

Math skills sufficient to: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent. Draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current *.DWG and *.PDF viewing and markup software.
