About our Team

Our team partners with the business to provide effective support for decision making, from strategic objectives to tactical operational initiatives. We use our financial expertise and commercial knowledge, to provide constructive feedback and valuable insight to help shape our strategic ambitions. We work with the business to create robust financial plans and execute against them. We play an important role in providing guidance for governance and controls. You report directly to the Finance Manager Research and will work closely with the AIS (Academic Information Systems) product & sales organizations.

You will be supported by the global finance Centre of Expertise.

About the Role

You will provide financial and business support to the AIS Products organization in our Academic Leaders and Funders customer segment. Your role involves ensuring accuracy and timeliness in sales, revenue, and cost management insights. As a pivotal member of the Finance Business Decision Support Team, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing the efficiency and support of this dynamic and evolving business.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the product team to implement changes that evolve and align with our business strategy. Being responsive to change, anticipating the insights and analytics needs to help the business to make data driven decisions;

  • Budgeting annual and mid-term forecasting of annual sales and revenue of $80m+ and cost;

  • Working with the business leaders to develop multiyear cost plans and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

  • Managing monthly reporting of sales, revenue and cost progression and signal variations, risks and opportunities;

  • Supporting M&A and integrating acquisitions;

  • Seeking opportunities proactively to support the growth and increase the profitability of the business unit;

  • Supporting the Finance Manager Research in strategic business decisions. Setting the finance agenda and "leading the way" to improve the effectiveness of the finance support team;

  • Working with the sales, revenue and cost Centres of Expertise to standardize and streamline insightful management reports.

Requirements

  • Possess significant expertise and financial business support experience within the B2B industry.

  • Be proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Be able to think strategically and provide valuable insights to shape the strategic objectives of the business.

  • Have the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations to support growth and profitability.

  • Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
