Job Description:

In support of the USAID Jordan Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project (APSC), CDM Smith seeks a Mid-Level Civil Engineer focused on Water/Wastewater activities. The position duties are as follows:

• Works collaboratively within a team of global professionals in the main tasks of the project.

• Reviews highly complex engineering design documents.

• Prepares documents in multiple formats in both Arabic and English that contain technical, commercial, and legal information.

• Reviews and analyzes moderate to complex data from studies and reports.

• Works in a multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural work environment, closely coordinating with team members in Jordan and throughout the firm.

• Attends regular meetings with USAID/Jordan, the Government of Jordan’s Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI), the Technical Committees and the Special Procurement Committees assigned for the project.

• Visits project site on an as-needed basis and manage & processes collected information from site visits.

• Assists with the development and submission of various deliverables associated with the project including technical reports/memos, administrative reports, and presentations.

• Provides technical review of various deliverables from subcontractors.

• Supports in coordination with Donors and Stakeholders

• Participates in the RFP Bidding Stage including assistance in answering clarifications, issuing addenda, responding to Donor’s/Lenders inquiries.

• Participates in Bids’ evaluation process as directed by the project and technical leads and assist in the drafting of the evaluation reports.

• Attends conferences, workshops, symposia, etc., as instructed by the COP, DCOP, and PTL to represent the company.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the project and technical managers.

• All delivery output must be done adhering to company policy and quality standards and in alignment with contract requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.

• 8-12 years of relevant experience in project development, tendering, and procurement, with a preference for experience in infrastructure contracts, particularly in Build Operate Transfer (BOT) or FIDIC contracts.

• Familiarity with the principles of water systems design and operation.

• Demonstrated proficiency in report writing.

• Effective communication skills in both English and Arabic (speaking, reading, and writing).

• Knowledge in Civil 3D, Water CADD, Storm, and spreadsheet software is essential.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.

• Demonstrated knowledge of project scheduling tools such as Primavera and MS Project.

• Must be a Jordanian citizen and legally eligible to work in Jordan.

• Professional certification or licensure as a Civil Engineer through the Jordan Engineers Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of a PMP certification or equivalent is considered advantageous.
