Job Description
The Direct Support Associate exists to teach, coach, and support individuals with disabilities so that they have opportunities for personal growth, and are valued members of their communities. Support activities may include assisting individuals to meet new people and develop friendships; find and maintain employment; exercise choices and acquire competencies to maintain activities of daily living; and achieve personal goals. This position is the primary support for the individuals in service, so exceptional interpersonal skills are a must. A high school diploma/equivalent or higher is required.
Requirements:
- Must possess a active driver's license as the employee will be responsible for transporting individuals to medical appointments, community outings, and other destinations using company vehicles.
- Pennsylvania state residency for a minimum of two years or longer.
- At least 18 years of age
- Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must successful complete Pre-employment process & criminal background checks.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred
- Candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical examination and tuberculosis test.
