Join the Office of Intellectual Disabilities / Early Intervention in Lehigh County as a part-time Clerk Typist 2. This position performs routine clerical work and answers phones for our office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK This Clerk Typist 2 position's clerical responsibilities involve organizing, updating, and filing contracts and fiscal-related information as well as typing forms, letters, envelopes, memorandums, and data entry. This includes creating and updating contact information for service providers in a database and processing both incoming and outgoing mail. This position also greets and directs other agency personnel who come to the office for meetings or information and answers telephone calls, directs calls to the appropriate person or voice mail, and takes messages. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Part-time employment Work hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with room for flexibility, Monday - Friday. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, or Schuylkill counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
