The Leidos Counter-WMD Weapons and Capabilities SE&I Team has an opening for a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico in support of a Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DRTA) program. The scope of duties for this position includes the development and management of safety programs for weapons testing above and below ground, construction above and below ground, respiratory safety, and general occupational safety and health.

In this role you will:

  • Manage an underground safety program,

  • Perform underground safety training,

  • Work in and manage permit-required confined species as a supervisor, entrant, and/or rescue,

  • Possess working knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements,

  • Enter permit-required confined spaces and don up to Level A personal protective equipment,

  • Serve as a test team Safety Officer and coordinate and communicate with other test team members.

Clearance Required:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required however we have the ability to hire at the Secret level for highly qualified candidates who are willing to upgrade to TS/SCI.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, additional work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience with respiratory program management including quantitative fit testing using a port-a-count,

  • Personal protective equipment management including self-contained breathing apparatus and portable air monitoring equipment,

  • Experience performing risk assessments, hazard analysis, hazardous material program management,

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • HAZWOPER training,

  • OSHA 511, 510, 7415, and 7405 training,

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
