LDAR Technician

Location: Edmonton

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

This position supports Bureau Veritas’ Emissions Services and performs on-site, daily Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) for our customers. Ensuring the production of high quality, legally defensible data, safely and on time as well as to provide excellent customer service to our Clients

Primary responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct Leak Detection and Repairs as scheduled by the Operations Supervisor

  • Understand and meet the LDAR work schedules

  • Conduct all pre-job safety requirements: Work Permit, Job Hazard Assessments 2 Minutes For My Safety

  • Perform LDAR/Fugitive Emission Monitoring as required by the customer contract.

  • Submit all required safety and quality documentation as required.

  • Supports and complies with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program.

  • Adheres to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy.

  • Participates, when requested in Emission Services health & safety meetings ad well as internal and external audits.

  • Ensures proper use of personal monitors, and all required PPE.

  • Maintains, repairs and calibrates equipment at the direction of the Operations Supervisor.

  • Ensures fleet vehicles are maintained in clean, working order.

  • Provides excellent customer service by always presenting a professional and cooperative attitude.

  • Performing QA/QC of data as required by PM group or Management.

  • Maintain a positive, cooperative work attitude.

  • Develops a strong supportive relationship with other LDAR Techs, the Data Administrator and the Operations Supervisors.

Is there a mutual fit? You ideally have:

  • Degree or certificate in engineering, instrumentation, environmental science or other related discipline preferred;

  • Up to 1 years LDAR monitoring program experience preferred;

  • Other petroleum, environmental, or related experience an asset;

  • Self-motivated, reliable and trustworthy. You will be required to work alone and ensure you meet a set schedule.

  • You have a strong commitment to safe work and driving practices.

  • Strong customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results;

  • Skilled in problem solving, effective communication,

  • You are ethical, dynamic, motivated and results oriented;

  • Good driving record with less than 6 demerits;

  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • May require flexible workings hours and overtime

  • Evenings, week-ends and out of town travel may be required
