Manager of Financial Reporting _position 1

Corporate Finance - Financial Reporting and Operations

The Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Finance Department's Financial Reporting functions.

Areas of Coverage by Managerial Position:

Investment accounting and reconciliation for Albany, GFH and CMH Inter-company activity across all Campuses PPE processing and reporting for GFH and CMH.

Salary range: $89,736 - $115,000

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS or BBA in Accounting is required.

  • CPA or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of five years experience with 2-3 years of Public Accounting or similar experience. Knowledge of FASB and AICPA Publications.

  • Knowledge of personal computers.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates departmental activities associated with outside audits.

  • Reviews and interpretation of all FASB opinions and other accounting body data.

  • Approves journal entries prepared by various Finance personnel.

  • Compares actual incurred cost and revenue to budgeted amounts and reconciling differences. Reviews monthly actual expenses and income for unusual items.

  • Verifies accuracy of financial reports.

  • Coordinates work with External Auditors during annual audit examination.

  • Supplies budget data as required by the Budget and Cost Department.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities include:

Non-debt Investments

  • Overseeing the reconciling all non-debt investment accounts for the following Campuses (Albany, GFH and CMH)

  • Responsible for overseeing the non-debt investment entries both monthly and yearly.

  • Manage the reporting on all non-debt investments both monthly and yearly.

Interinstitutional:

  • Works with other financial staff for purposes of reconciliation of inter institutional accounts. Reconciliation of net receivables and payments in the interinstitutional accounts

  • Oversee the reconciliation of all Campuses interinstitutional accounts.

  • Manage the reporting on all interinstitutional reporting internally and externally.

Capital:

  • Creating projects in accordance with budget.

  • Track and investigate project issues and reporting discrepancies.

  • Approve and process project transfers.

  • Responsible for the calculation of the annual depreciation budget and monthly spreads

  • Oversees the reporting of monthly/quarterly Capital Expenditure Spend

Others:

  • Trains and develops personnel under his/her supervision and prepares annual appraisals of their performance.

  • Performs special projects and analytical reports as requested by the Director of Financial Reporting, Vice President of Finance, or CFO.

  • Cooperates and works with Department Heads and other supervisory personnel as requested or needed.
