Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Mainframe z/OS and DB2 Database Administrator to join our Fortune 500 client, an IT infrastructure services provider. Responsibilities will include all aspects of DB2 DBA on the z/OS platform. Must have a working understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), JCL, DB2 performance tuning, Database Definition Language (DDL) and all DB2 utilities. Ability to follow existing processes for Change, Incident, Problem, Availability, Service Level and Capacity Management. Must have working knowledge of DB2 database Backup/Recovery. Review Logical design and provide recommendations. Transform the Logical design model into a Physical design. Design and prepare application database changes (add new or change existing structure). Willingness to provide rotational 24 x 7 On Call support for production environment required.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years experience with DB2, z/OS - 3+ years exp with v/11 and v/12

5+ years experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and DB2 utilities

5+ years experience with executing DDL

5+ years experience with capacity/performance management

5+ years with DB2 Backup/Recovery

5+ years experience in applying problem solving techniques

5+ years experience in database monitoring

5+ years experience in database maintenance and administration null
