Description

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Construction Office Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for computer software, particularly Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, although training will be provided for suitable candidates with a good accounting software background. Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.) is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate software to manage project data, track expenses, and generate reports. Train and assist team members in software utilization as needed.

  • Construction Familiarity: Demonstrate knowledge of construction processes. Understand bidding procedures, solicitations, and qualifications to support project management activities.

  • Bookkeeping Support: Provide basic bookkeeping assistance, including accounts payable functions and basic construction accounting tasks. While an accounting degree is not mandatory, familiarity with construction accounting principles is preferred.

  • Independent Work: Thrive in an independent work environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is crucial.

  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a fast-paced construction office environment. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless workflow and contribute to a positive work culture.

Additional Information:

  • Location: This is an on-site position based in our Albany office.

  • Hours are 30 per week with potential for full-time hours (40 hours/week). Flexible scheduling options available.

  • Transition to Full-time: Anticipated transition to a full-time position, contingent upon workload and organizational needs

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Sage 300 Construction preferred, or a strong aptitude for accounting software.

  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and Adobe Pro.

  • Familiarity with construction processes.

  • Basic bookkeeping aptitude with experience in accounts payable and construction accounting principles.

  • Strong ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
