CACI is seeking a cleared senior level Network Engineer with a program management background. This role will support the DCI Branch at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

* 3 days onsite and 2 days remote **

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Evaluate the security and suitability of Open Source, COTS, and GOTS solutions to ZT (Zero Trust) microsegmentation and PIN (Predictive Intelligent Networking)

  • Research and develop internal components for testing, proof of concept and integration of solutions and concepts as the ZT microsegmentation and PIN fields evolve.

  • Design/architect prototypes using Open Source, COTS, GOTS, or internally developed component solutions that demonstrate the state of the art in zero trust microsegmentation and predictive intelligent networking. A focus would be on its applicability to real-world traffic flow scenarios and security domains, and alignment towards DoD initiatives.

  • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the DoD about their networking environments, requirements, and issues that would need to be resolved.

  • Provide guidance to the customer towards implementation and determine if components are viable solutions and if not, what would need to be addressed.

  • Analyze existing application network flows and determine the impact of a prototype or solution.

  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices, in addition to the DoD ZTA guidance, to ensure that prototypes and solutions can meet those standards.

More About the Role:

  • Use Packet Analysis Tools.

  • Analyze Network Protocols and Troubleshoot Networking Issues.

  • Build Systems that Ingest and Process Cybersecurity Related Logs.

  • Work in a Linux Environment on Closed Restricted Networks.

  • Utilize Virtual Machines and containerization technologies.

  • Leverage Automation and Configuration Management Tools Such as Jenkins, Ansible & GitLab CD.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.

  • BA/BS or Equivalent Experience.

  • 6 Years+ Relevant Work Experience.

  • Senior Level Proficiency with Networking Analysis Tools such as tcpdump, wireshark, IPFIX or netflow.

  • Senior Level Understanding of Computer Networking, with hands on debugging experience.

  • Experience with designing, implementing and maintaining software defined networking solutions.

  • Senior Level Understanding of Software Engineering, with a focus on network-oriented software preferred.

  • Some Proficiency with the Linux Command Line, Utilities and Shell Scripting.

  • Some Proficiency with the Windows Command Line, Utilities and PowerShell Scripting.

Experience:

  • Conducted testing, debugging, and performance analysis of networking software or hardware to detect anomalies and performed root cause analysis to devise mitigations or solutions.

  • Planned, designed and tailored technical specifications of micro-segmentation strategies that enhanced an organizations zero trust posture.

  • Conducted research, development and implementation of networking software, including developing server or client software using a socket api or below.

These Qualifications Are Nice To Have:

  • Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

  • Knowledge of Modern Devops Practices.

  • Experience with Software Defined Networking concepts.

  • Experience with Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) or Extended Berkeley Packet Filter (eBPF).

  • Experience with encapsulation and segregation systems such as VXLAN or OpenDaylight.

  • Experience with Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and leveraging it for building Layer 7 firewalls.

  • Experience with data plane flow control, and an understanding of how it interacts with a control plane.

  • Moderate experience with Modern Version Control Systems (Github/Gitlab).

  • Experience with Router/Switch configuration, physical and virtual.

  • Security and/or Networking Certifications.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$75,200 - 158,100 USD
