Job Description

BAE Systems Combat Vehicles group is recruiting a Program Manager to lead the management of the Engineering, Logistics and Financial aspects of the M88A3 Single Vehicle Recovery (SVR) Upgrade program. As life-cycle manager for the M88A3 Engineering and Logistics effort, you are directly responsible for profit and loss on highly complex program involving the development, production, and technical support of Recovery products.

Provides competitive advantage to the company by managing the program's defined scope on schedule, within budget, and at the expected level of quality.

Develops proposals and program plans that address the life cycle of products from capture through production, and post-production support.

The Program Manager is the primary point of contact for Engineering & Logistics, and manages stakeholder communications with cross-functional teams, customers, and BAE Systems management on Engineering & Logistics programmatic issues.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of current US Army weapon systems, and force concepts/structure with emphasis on Armored Brigade Combat Team systems.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in development of project proposals, with the ability to work across functional boundaries and build teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to act independently within established guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across multiple contracts and/or program activities.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional teams to understand program requirements and deliver all required products on time while minimizing duplicate and overlapping activities.

  • Demonstrated experience with multiple aspects of program management including: requirements management, schedule estimating, cost estimating, earned value management, and Risk and Opportunity Management.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage program requirements, and negotiate and execute contract changes with US Army customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with personnel in the following areas to plan and execute programs: contracts, engineering, finance, facilities, logistics, material planning, supply chain, quality and USG agencies including CASCOM, ATEC, PEO-GCS, TRADOC TCM, and TACOM.

  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, motivate, direct, and retain staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage interpersonal relations and conflicts.

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft suite, excellent written and verbal skill, proficient communicator, and problem solving skills.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Preferred experience in Product Development and Engineering-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->

  • Broad knowledge of Engineering, Finance, Logistics and General Management

  • MBA and PMI certified preferred

  • Knowledge of Military Operations

  • Experience with US Army Program Management System
