As a Mechanical Product Support Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in providing engineering support for in-service actuation systems products. You'll be the go-to technical expert for assigned product lines, coordinating and directing engineering activities to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. responsibilities:

  • Coordinate technical support activities for specific aircraft programs related to in-service actuation systems products.

  • Serve as a technical representative at airline, aircraft OEM, and MRO customer interactions.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

  • Review and handle non-conforming material, ensuring appropriate disposition.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with field return units, conduct root cause investigations.

  • Collaborate on resolving technical problems with in-service products, including concept development, design, and validation.

  • Provide cost estimates and respond to customer requests for quotations, considering design changes, repairs, upgrades, and obsolescence.

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations internally and to customers.

  • Maintain awareness of project scheduling, budgeting processes, and project performance indices.

  • Create component specifications, test plans, and test reports; lead and oversee test activities.

  • Coordinate the development of maintenance manuals, service bulletins, letters, and authorizations for assigned products.

  • Conduct product maintenance and overhaul training.

  • Offer technical support to suppliers, manufacturing, assembly/test, and MRO service centers.

  • Actively participate in new program design and development.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

  • Possess a minimum of a BSME or equivalent technical/aerospace degree.

  • Have 5 to 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field, with exposure to design, development, manufacturing, and assembly being advantageous.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting design drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Skilled in hands-on troubleshooting, fault isolation, and root cause analysis, particularly with actuation or vane motor/fluid handling equipment.

  • Self-motivated, dynamic, able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Capable of multitasking, executing cross-functional activities, and meeting project milestones.

  • Excellent communication skills, with a background in technical writing.

  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Willingness to occasionally travel as required.
