Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Manager, Product Management - Marketing position to join the Commercial Avionics & Fire Protection Team. This team develops and directs marketing programs and brand management for a variety of products across Collins Aerospace, with this role specifically focused on Vision Systems capabilities. Vision System products span from multi-spectrum enhanced visual systems to heads up guidance displays in the cockpit. Market segmentations of interest include Commercial Airlines, Business & Regional Aircraft and Military platforms.

  • Drive “outside-in” thinking: voice of the customer and competitive intelligence gathering, capturing market requirements, conducting market research, and introducing new business cases,

  • Manage marketing tasks: creation of strategic marketing plans, execution of tactical marketing activities including digital marketing collateral, events, brand and thought leadership, to secure competitive orders and sales,

  • Manage critical relationships: proactive collaboration with Sales, Technical Sales, Sales Enablement, Engineering and Value Stream Leadership to align on strategic direction for Vision Systems capabilities

Everyday tasks for the team include:

  • Evaluating emerging market segmentations through collaboration with Product Strategy and the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and providing accurate predictions around timing, size, and strategic importance of market segmentations.

  • Establishing marketing strategies including product direction, advertising, pricing, expense budgets, profit plans and future product development to manage a product or product category’s life cycle.

  • Reviewing current product offerings to identify enhancements to current features and functionality.

  • Providing creative and impactful messaging and advertising with core brand equity.

  • Building powerful networks and leading team projects where you do not have direct control, oftentimes across different international business units.

  • Competitive/Teaming intelligence gathering, interpretation and recommendations across industry peers, research organizations, classical and non-classical commercial and defense product/service providers.

Success for this position, as a member of the Commercial Avionics & Fire Protection Marketing Team, is measured through exceptional personal contribution to the accomplishment of team goals and tasks in order to secure competitive orders and sales targets. An ideal candidate should be intrinsically motivated to collect large amounts of customer and industry data from a diverse set of sources, analytically identify relevant patterns and themes for the prediction of successful technologies and services within the market (filter, imagine and connect), and successfully communicate those strategic visions and recommendations such that multiple levels of leadership and industry can easily understand and move forward with (translate and activate). Marketing at Collins Aerospace is key to informing the business of market needs and vice versa, keeping the market informed about products, services, and solutions to meet those needs!

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excel working in a cross functional matrixed team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers

  • Consistently produce superior results, keeping projects on schedule and contributing to a positive work environment

  • Experience with quantitative market research, economic benefit modeling in aviation, and modern digital marketing techniques

  • Familiarity with Collins Aerospace Vision Systems products and services

  • Basic understanding of the NAS, EASA, and CAAC airspace requirements and their future plans

  • Understanding of airspace procedures, including different approach technologies, approach minima, and airport constraints

  • Understanding of Airline Flight Operations, Airline Crew Resource Management, and pilot workload
