Job Summary: Ensures compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Keeps abreast of changes in ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Ensures the accuracy and consistency of reported information through the review of compliance testing, contribution allocations, census information, statements, and valuations. Promotes an environment of teamwork within the department and across the bank. Represents INTRUST Bank in all he or she does in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Must maintain strict standards of confidentiality and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST’s character qualities.
Review annual compliance testing.
Review and finalize 5500s for small plans. Responsible for preparation of large plan 5500s.
Review client reports and participant statements.
Assist Administrators with plan operation issues and elevate when appropriate.
Monitor logs, fees, contributions distributions, withdrawals, application of revenue sharing and forfeiture allocations.
Instruct administrators as to revisions or needed changes to testing, reporting, etc. to insure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of work across the department.
Work with ERISA Counsel to determine correction methods for plan errors and issues, and coordinates corrections with the plan sponsor, relationship manager, and assigned record keeper.
Responsible for successfully operating the government forms software and posting completed filings for the customer to submit as well as insuring filings are submitted.
Works internally with Relationship Managers, support personnel, and Customer Solutions Center personnel.
Works with independent plan auditors to answer questions and provide any requested reports.
Ensures reporting and compliance work is completed timely.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field a plus. At least 5 years of experience in participant recordkeeping and qualified plan administration preferred. Experience filing tax forms or working with audits a plus.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Must maintain specialized knowledge of ERISA and appropriate sections of the Internal Revenue Code. Must be detail oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work unsupervised and use a high level of discretion.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: None required; having or interest in obtaining Qualified 401K Administrator (QKA) certification or Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) designation preferred.
Physical Demands: Long periods of sitting and computer use.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
