Compensation and Work Schedule:
At UGE, we believe in empowering the next generation through hands-on learning experiences. As part of this,all 2024 Summer Interns at UGE will be paid $20/hr. ($8,000 for the term) on a bi-weekly W2 basis. Summer 2024 Interns are also eligible for2 PTO days and 2 holidays, Memorial Day and July 4.We encourage all team members to take advantage of the travel privileges provided through United Airlines, andall 2024 Summer Interns will work a 9/80 schedule to facilitate every other Friday off. This means a workday of around 8.5-9 hours.
The 2024 Summer Workforce Planning and Strategy Intern will work a maximum 40/60 hybrid schedule with up to 60% of their time being remote.In-person work will include onboarding, team building, 1-1 time with our Senior Leadership Team, paid corporate travel, and service projects supporting our Chicagoland neighbors.

We are driven by data – and our Resource Planning Team is critical to the success of our line stations and hubs in developing and executing localized staffing strategies to serve our airline customers and ensure a positive traveler experience. The Summer 2024 Workforce Planning and Strategy Intern will report to the Sr. Business Analyst and join our data-driven Resource Planning Team to support staffing planning and logistics for our airport operations and hubs teams. The Summer 2024 Workforce Planning and Strategy Intern will learn how to:
analyze labor models and logistics needs based rapidly changing information,
develop agile staffing plans in diverse markets, and
engage professionally with remote stakeholders to support corporate objectives.
At the end of their term, the Summer 2024 Workforce Planning and Strategy Intern will have been able to build a professional business pitch deck to present their learning to our Senior Leadership and to engage with Senior Leadership around key business objectives.
Currently pursuing a degree in Aviation, Business, Economics, Human Resources, or related field.
Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sumif, countif, average). Knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup, and/or index/match preferred but not required.
Personal interest in aviation or logistics operations.
Successful candidate with be self-directed, motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and a strong team player; this includes showing adaptability.
