responsibilities:
Performing relevant structural design analyses for various components related to fuel pumping systems, vapor cooling systems, and/or actuation systems.
Reviewing customer requirements to gain a thorough understanding and providing mechanical analysis of thermal and engine system elements, such as vapor cycle compressors, thermal expansion valves, heat exchangers, fuel pumps and metering units, actuation systems, and accessories.
Creating detailed and converged finite element analyses based on inputs from customer specifications and other engineering teams.
Conducting detailed design analyses and presenting the results to customers during design reviews, ensuring compliance with requirements and addressing any concerns.
Recommending design feature modifications to address stress concerns while considering the impact on weight and manufacturability.
Demonstrating extensive experience and proficiency in using ANSYS Workbench environment, particularly with structural, vibration, and dynamics modules (version 2020R1 or newer).
Reading and understanding complex mechanical detail parts and assembly drawings.
Reading and understanding hydraulic schematics.
Willingness to travel as required.
Possessing technical communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey analysis results and recommendations.
Being self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal guidance while also functioning well within a team.
Having a specific interest in turbine engine fuel/oil pump design, environmental control system packaging, component design, and analysis.
