Bakken Overview
The Bakken is a large shale play located in the Williston Basin, which stretches across portions of eastern Montana and western North Dakota. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 560,000 net acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 178,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin. Operational and capital efficiencies continue to improve in the basin through the use of multi-well pad drilling, completion optimization, facility design changes and data analytics. In 2021, net production from the Bakken averaged 94 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Description
If you are selected as the Cost Analyst, you will be providing support to Base Facilities and Operations that manage upstream oil and gas facility and pipeline projects in the Bakken.
Your responsibilities may include:
Complete monthly capital and operating expense accruals (WIP)
Prepare capital and expense budgets for all Bakken operations in support of ongoing outlook and long-range planning exercises
Collaborate with finance, capital projects, base facilities, operations and maintenance teams to identify cost variances and realize efficiencies
Lead monthly multi-discipline cost accrual meetings to drive business performance and identify threats
Provide guidance in the preparation of new AFE generation including budget allocation
Assist invoice processing for Base Engineering and Operations group through cost code validation
Handle all vendor queries that relate to the Cost Analyst's area of responsibility
Coordinate with supply chain on updated contractual prices to ensure accurate budgeted costs
Qualifications:
Basic/Required:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
3 years of experience in accounting or finance
1 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
Advanced level of proficiency in SAP
Preferred:
Associate degree or trade school certificate or higher in Accounting, Business, Finance, other related field or foreign equivalent
Advanced level of knowledge in field operations, construction operations, downhole completion equipment & techniques, and workover operations
Advanced level of knowledge in compression, plunger lift, rod pump, chemical treating, etc. operations on high pressure and low-pressure gas and oil wells
Demonstrated leadership in promoting safe work practices
Excellent communication skills in working with multiple disciplines
Motivates and encourages people to achieve their best and to pursue goals that enable success
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage high priority projects with a variety of team members, objectives, and deadlines
Facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to gain the confidence and trust of stakeholders
