Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Logistics Management Specialist in Watervliet, New York

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned & operated manufacturing center located in NY. Responsibilities Ensures that logistics objectives, goals and targets are being met: to have the right material, at the right place, at the right time. Supports business process change implementation, deployment and sustainment at WVA, e.g. the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Complex Assembly Manufacturing Solution (CAMS), Shop Floor Automation (SFA), and other enterprise systems. Uses a computer-based inventory management system to estimate quantities of raw materials and schedule their deliveries. Coordinates supply activities with schedulers, shop floor supervisors, logistics management division personnel and with various other organizations within the installation. Plans and coordinates the logistical actions required to support Watervliet Arsenal’s manufacturing mission. Creates plans and coordinates with WVA management for resolution of logistics management issues, and to ensure adequate support for all elements of the program manufacturing cells. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Investigating or analyzing supply or logistics related problems, conditions or questions; (2) Using a computer-based inventory management system; and (3) Estimating and/or scheduling the delivery of raw materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
