About the Role

This is a key leadership position within our Operations organization, leading the Quality Assurance function for multiple facilities. The Senior Manager of Quality will oversee the quality management system for our entire portfolio of products and processes, including, but not limited to inspections, quality engineering, and audit requirements. This role will have several direct reports, as well as a dotted line direct report from Supplier Quality.

Tasks to be Accomplished

  • Collaborate in formulating strategic plans and take the lead role to implement the approved plans relating to the Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Accountable for maintaining the QMS to meet ISO 9001 standard and to continually improve the QMS to meet the business needs including compliance to the AS9100D standard

  • Direct key Quality Engineering staff to achieve business objectives.

  • Lead and promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Manage, mentor, and train Quality Engineering leadership.

  • Define key performance metrics and drive performance to meet targets.

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100D requirements.

  • Plan, develop, and direct our quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with process, product, and service requirements

  • Establish annual operating plans (budgets) necessary to achieve the goals of the overall strategic plan

  • Ensure all staff are aligned with L3Harris mission, vision, values, goals and the overall objectives of the corporation

  • Direct key staff in Quality Assurance and ensure quality goals are met.

  • Ensure compliance to EH&S and security guidelines

  • Review monthly results with business leaders to evaluate progress toward achievement of operating plans. Identify and implement appropriate business metrics to monitor performance and communicate with staff.

  • Manage, mentor and train staff as appropriate.

  • Define key performance metrics and drive performance to meet goals

  • Foster collaborative relationships with the Manufacturing, Service Center, Supply Chain, Configuration Management, Engineering, Quality, Program Management and Finance groups.

  • Implement corrective/preventative measures to address customer concerns as well as manage and report on the cost of non-conformance

  • Ability to prioritize workload and coordinate activities across multiple departments.

  • Skilled facilitator, able to create cohesive, engaged teams.

  • Record of accomplishment of building strong relationships with organizational leaders.

  • Understanding of aerospace/military maintenance planning concepts.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio.

  • Strong ERP system knowledge.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods.

    Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of educational and professional experience.

  • 10+ years of related Quality experience in a senior leadership role

  • Strong Operational experience and proven track record in implementing continuous improvement programs.

  • Thorough and comprehensive knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100D

  • Knowledge of and experience with continuous process improvement techniques and tools such as Six Sigma, Total Quality, Capability Maturity Model – Integrated (CMM-I), etc.

  • Experience in aerospace/military product support an asset

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
