Job Overview

The Sales Development Leader manages a team of individual contributors who are responsible for qualifying leads and securing meetings for our sales reps.

Reports To

Head of Global Sales Development

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Meet or exceed all assigned activity and revenue objectives for each team

  • Provide daily leadership and coaching to team members to ensure they are prepared to achieve success

  • Build and maintain a supportive, enthusiastic, and positive work environment in which team members can thrive and be proud of their accomplishments

  • Establish and use daily, weekly and monthly KPIs and metrics to validate individual and team performance

  • Provide individual corrective behavior and development opportunities to each staff member

  • Ensure team members are investing in themselves and adhering to all sales enablement training requirements

  • Be involved in the recruitment and on-boarding process for new team members

  • Provide required weekly reporting to sales management

  • Be the primary liaison and work closely with Marketing, Marketing Ops, and Sales Ops to ensure a smooth flow of information and reporting throughout the Marketing/Sales life cycle

  • Provide feedback on a weekly basis to Marketing, Marketing Ops, Sales and Sales Ops on where challenges exist and/or where operational improvements could be made

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with field sales team members including reps, POD Leaders and Regional VPs

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records in SFDC which document all activities and opportunities of the team(s)

  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts (if appropriate)

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years minimum of success in directly managing inside sales team resource

  • 4-year university or accredited college degree required. IT, Engineering, Business degrees preferred but not required

  • Experience with all role types (SDR, BDR, ISR) a plus

  • Passion for leading winning teams

  • Experienced, confident and effective in leading diverse teams with multiple objectives

  • Able to take a hands-on approach and teach and coach team directly, by way of example

  • Detail oriented and able to process activity and results data and interpret into actions to improve team performance and communicate progress and needs to other departments

  • A role-model of professionalism, committed, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast pace and, at times, demanding environment

  • Able to operate effectively in a teamed environment

  • Achieve or exceed SLAs for team on lead follow up

  • Team meeting targets

  • Team pipeline generation targets

  • Team Opportunity generation targets (both unit and revenue)
