Director Risk Management and Central Monitoring

The Risk Management-Central Monitoring Department is an industry leader in Risk Based Monitoring (RBM). As part of our leadership team, you would lead a team of central monitoring managers (CMMs) who are responsible for executing on the global RBM strategy at Janssen R&D.

Key skill sets include a vast knowledge of risk assessment and clinical data/risk analyses strategies. A high degree of leadership and influence skills for translating RBM concepts, internal and external, is also key. This position is instrumental in setting RBM tactics and strategy as well as the hiring, training, talent management and performance development activities of the CMMs. Can represent Head RM-CM or department at high level and cross-functional meetings and has significant independent decision-making authority. A desire to lead initiatives related to process improvement and/or department strategy is key!


Key Skills:

  • Deep understanding of the principles of RBM and the ability to drive initiatives and strategies for advancing the concepts or RBM.

  • Proven experience in and a passion for leading others and promoting a culture of continuous talent development!

  • Technological expertise in systems and databases that analyze risk related to clinical trial data quality and Good Clinical Practice.

  • An innovative mind set and the desire to learn new skills and innovative ways to promote and drive the advancement of RBM principles both internally and externally.

  • Strong influencing and communication skills

    Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum: B.S. degree required. Ten or more years experience with risk identification, management and analysis and overall drug development processes in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry or CRO. Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and data science principles.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Life Sciences. Demonstrated advanced analytical and/or statistical skills.
