Position summary: The Field Consultant is a position of ultimate responsibility for an assigned number of stores within a territory. Must demonstrate a commitment to personal development and to individual store and overall company success. This position will oversee the Plymouth, Warsaw, Mishawaka, and Shipshewana area stores.
General Purpose: The Field Consultant is responsible for the daily operation and execution of company strategy in each store in the assigned territory. To provide our customers with total satisfaction. To serve our community through volunteerism and produce a return on assets which will assure the future prosperity of our employees and our company. To be an ambassador of our “Living Brand” by building relationships with our customers.
Role Qualifications: Must be able to be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Must be able to travel daily between all Family Express locations and competitors.
Position Responsibilities:
Builds Relationships
Promotes Living Brand
Serves as Product Brand Advocate
Adheres to company approved accounting procedures
Effectively operates all store equipment
Ensures minimum image standards at all times
Assists store manager with recruiting and interviewing qualified applicants
Leads, motivates, inspires, trains, and coaches all employees
Ensures store security and safety for all customers and employees. Promptly reports any incident
Maximizes sales and gross profit dollars
Responsible for profitable marketing of merchandise and proper product availability and display
Completes any and all scheduled performance reviews
React quickly and effectively to any crisis situation at any store
Compliance with and enforcement of all corporate policies and corporate mission
Follow up with financial/reporting issues at stores in a timely manner
Make regular, frequent inspections of all stores including competitors at various times
Review daily accounting paperwork for accuracy and completeness during store visits.
Review Store Security systems as required and necessary

Physical demands and work environment:
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for prolonged periods; work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
• Work Environment: Must have flexibility to work all shifts, all days of the week, when necessary. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures for minimum of 30 minute intervals. Exposure to cleaning solvents.
