Jordan Hospital Quality Data Analyst in United States

As a key member of the Quality and Patient Safety Team the Quality Data Analyst will be responsible for ongoing preparation and analysis of health care information, obtained from a variety of sources including patient care, financial, and demographic data for performance improvement in the organization. This position will also be responsible for the integrity of data and seeking out assistance and solutions if the information is not as expected or trends or issues arise. In addition, the Quality Data Analyst will support the design, management, presentation and integrity of data collection, data analysis and data interpretation, including but not limited to patient safety and regulatory compliance, infection prevention and control, core measures and other externally reported metrics.

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Quality and Patient Safety, this position supports the analysis, planning, design, implementation and evaluation of key projects to assess and improve publicly reported measures (CMS, TJC, Mass Health etc.) in an effort to achieve the hospital’s strategic goals. Job duties include interpreting customer needs and requirements, translate concepts into practice, identify process improvement opportunities, and quantify results and trends.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Extract and compile data from regulatory agency sources and internal data sources and compare to benchmarks and standards for clinical, operational, and financial measures in order to give a clear picture of the hospital performance.

  • Collects, validates, reconciles and reports data; prepares periodic data review prior to submission for regulatory reporting; communicates and coordinates with internal and external involved parties to ensure data integrity; compare data results and identify trends/opportunities for improvement.

  • Prepares Physician Profiles semi-annually to support the OPPE process.

  • Develop, administer, and maintain ongoing data validation procedures for monitoring data completeness and accuracy for all quality data sources and reports.

  • Obtain and review data quality reports or error logs for supplemental data sources to ensure data integrity and minimize data loss

  • Perform and present to the Senior Director of Quality and Patient Safety the results of quantitative and qualitative analyses as needed to inform overall performance.

  • Collects, enters, and analyzes quality and performance data; Generates reports and makes recommendations for future improvement based on analysis.

  • Acts as a resource in the use of database applications and dashboards to the department.

  • Maintain an inventory and schedule of all data reports for the department and perform routine inventory analysis to ensure effective use of informatics and IT resources

  • In partnership with department project owners, develop, review and update report specifications, data dictionaries and databases on a regular basis

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • An individual with advanced analytical and reasoning skills and exceptional aptitude for prioritizing

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in the use of desktop productivity tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.

  • Ability to organize, synthesize and analyze large amounts of information.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver required products in a timely manner.

  • Detail oriented with a commitment to producing analytic product that consistently meets the highest standards of accuracy.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment. Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to explain data analysis to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills, including data entry, manipulation, display, management and development of control charts, and data analysis. Knowledge of statistical processes and measurement techniques

  • Knowledge of patient quality, safety and satisfaction performance measures and indicators, data definitions and sources and relevant national databases and benchmarks; knowledge of healthcare quality, safety and satisfaction data design, collection, aggregation and summarization; and expert knowledge of performance improvement models, methods and systems.

  • Leads efforts to ensure data integrity and validity and perform ongoing quality assurance of all data and reports.

Experience 3+ years of health care clinical quality data analytics

Healthcare leadership experience preferred.


Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or healthcare related field required

Master’s degree preferred

Licensure/Certification: Current Massachusetts RN License preferred

Certification in Lean/Six Sigma preferred
