Job Description:

Serves as the primary Gorgon Stare (GS) System LNO in a deployed environment responsible for the integration and synchronization of system capabilities in all phases of operations at the TAAC/CJFLCC level in a theater of operations. Teaches, coaches, and mentors US Army and Air Force leaders in planning, preparing, executing, and assessing GS Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. Provides guidance on TTPs, CONOP, and CONEMP development and implementation for the use of the GS system by Commanders and staffs. Collects operational, technical, and functional requirements from Supported Units and provides a narrative of those requirements to the Program Director, 645 AESG. Executes liaison duties among the deployed US Air Force operators and the ground force operations mission planning and execution staffs.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervision: Assists the customer in optimizing the tactical employment of the Gorgon Stare system across the GS Enterprise. Frequently responsible for managing the planning, preparing, executing, and assessing GS Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. Work as the sole GS LNO in the customer’s headquarters.

  • Communication and Influence: Communicates within and outside the customer’s organization which includes members across the Gorgon Stare enterprise. Routinely communicates with leaders on all matters of importance. Often train leaders on the capabilities of the system.

  • Innovation and Complexity: Work consists of making significant improvements in the tactical employment of the GS system across the GS enterprise. Provides guidance on TTPs, CONOP, and CONEMP development and implementation for the use of the GS system by Commanders and staffs. Collects operational, technical, and functional requirements from Supported Units and provides a narrative of those requirements to the Program Director, 645 AESG.

  • Organizational Impact: Supports customer’s strategic goals by developing collection strategies to leverage Gorgon Stare. Provides inputs to TTPs, CONOP, and CONEMP development and implementation.

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of (9) nine years of relevant experience or a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

  • Positon requires an active DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.

  • Must pass government background investigation and must meet and maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Demonstrated performance and proficiency in the intelligence, operations and targeting processes in conventional and/or unconventional units.

  • Tactical operations experience in a combat environment within the last five years

  • Experience in the employment of airborne ISR assets in support of C4ISR

  • Able and willing to travel both CONUS (training) and OCONUS (105-day rotations) for no more than 2 rotations per year

  • Ability to act as technical and operational program liaison at multiple echelons in a coalition environment

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport

  • Basic computer and software application knowledge

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • USA, USAF, or USMC veteran

  • Formal education and training and experience in planning and executing military operations at the operational level of war.

  • Experience training Soldiers, Airmen, and/or Marines in ISR operations
