We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Journey-level Millwright/Machinist at our Toronto Service Centre, in Etobicoke, Ontario.
Under limited supervision you will be able to:
Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and sketches
Perform precision metal cutting, grinding, shaping and fitting
Measure components, parts, and raw materials with precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools
Assembles pumping equipment to customer, OEM, and industry standard specifications.
Performs final as-built inspections.
Disassemble equipment to access, remove, clean, and inspect components
Support investigating and determining root-cause failure of equipment and components; recommend repair methods and procedures
Determine proper materials needed for repairs as per BOM
Contours impellers and pump casings to meet hydraulic requirements, following engineering directives and drawings.
5+ years pump shop experience with specialized training in the operation of all shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, boring machines and drill presses plus complete assembly, disassembly, inspection and analytical skills as they relate to the repair of all pumps and rotating equipment.
Read and interpret drawings and blue prints, with ability to apply knowledge of cutting tool geometry. Basic math skills
Possess basic mechanical hand tools, basic precision measuring tools and proper safety shoes and attire as specified by a minimum tool requirements list specific to the facility requirements.
