Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) professional and strong team player to be a technical leader on our Electronic Discovery (eDiscovery) team. This position is part of the Information Security and Risk Management team within the Global Qualcomm OneIT organization.

As a senior technical member of this team, you will:

Work closely with our Corporate Legal Discovery Management Organization to provide technical leadership support of Qualcomm IT's global data preservation and collection activities.

Interact with senior technical professionals across IT, as well with Executive-level Legal staff to help develop and implement Qualcomms eDiscovery program.

Oversee, mentor and provide operational management of junior team members for eDiscovery requests, including: coordination/task management, collection and processing of Electronically Stored Information (ESI), expert testimony, documentation of all aspects of collection/security efforts and develop new or enhance existing applications to address eDiscovery capabilities.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong IT background with experience and knowledge that crosses many disciplines of IT, along with specific knowledge and experience working with senior-level executive staff.

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge across a wide range of IT technologies and concepts, cloud infrastructure, Office365, SaaS offerings, traditional server and storage systems, and how it all relates to the Qualcomms eDiscovery processes and procedures.

Will provide technical leadership customer support and be a global advocate for eDiscovery data collection and preservation capabilities across Qualcomms IT organization.

Will lead technical projects and initiatives that will include various members across Legal, Corporate IT, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, identify needs, evaluate the environment capabilities against requirements, assess risks, provide architecture recommendations, and drive resolution of issues.

The ideal candidate will have strong multitasking and organization skills and be able to adapt to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines. Be interrupt driven - tasks (sometimes urgent) are to be expected within this supporting architectural and operational role. Strong communication skills are required along with the ability to convert business needs into IT standard/supported processes. Need to be able to communicate in person and in writing effectively to make recommendations to overcome impending obstacles, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. Be able to work with individuals outside of the system function to ensure solutions work with other components of a specific project.

Customer service is a major component to success in this position. Your responsibilities in this area will be to:

Provide technical leadership and operational management of eDiscovery requests, including: Collection and processing of ESI, on-premise and corporate cloud environments, particularly Office365; collection, processing, and presentation of source code and knowledge of source code repositories; hosting and maintenance of virtual server environments (ESX). Coordination and task management of junior team members. Create and maintain documentation for all aspects of eDiscovery, to include: security protocols, collection processes and procedures. Work with various IT and business unit technical representatives to ensure timely and proper handling of discoverable data. Develop/optimize eDiscovery capabilities throughout the Corporate infrastructure, as required. Troubleshoot issues and support cross-organizational efforts. Be part of an on-call pager rotation to respond to critical situations and requests.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of IT experience including Infrastructure, Applications, and Computer Forensics OR 6+ years of IT experience including Infrastructure, Applications, and Computer Forensics without a Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical skills to provide world-class information system solutions.

Strong knowledge of future trends within areas of expertise and understanding of eDiscovery collection requirements.

Excellent knowledge of eDiscovery collection and processing applications: EnCase, FTK, Axiom, and other computer forensic applications.

Excellent knowledge of source code repositories.

Computer Forensics certification such as EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), or GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE) strongly desired. CISSP, GCFA, GCIA, GCIH, ACE, or GCEM certification a plus.

Excellent technical skills and the ability to interact w/ senior-level executive management, and inside/outside counsel.

Excellent knowledge of common operating system platforms (Windows, Unix/Linux, OSX), networking architectures and protocols, TCP/IP, network security concepts, computer hardware, and enterprise architecture.

Excellent knowledge of UNIX command line, ESX infrastructure, Active Directory, and group policy.

Prior eDiscovery industry or law firm experience in eDiscovery collections, processing, and review.

Experience in coding moderate to complex programs/scripts in compiled and/or interpreted languages, such as: Java, Python, Perl, Powershell, or EnScript.

Ability to make quick and accurate decisions. This includes the ability to weigh alternatives and take into account the impact of the decisions on people, equipment, other resources and business processes.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility through resourcefulness and resilience in the face of change, obstacles, and adversity. This includes adapting to competing demands and shifting priorities.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Information Technology Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Information Technology and/or Law & Administration
