Vyaire Medical Field Service Engineer in United States

Field Service Engineer

Overall Purpose of the role

This is a customer facing role to represent Vyaire in the field and provides on site technical assistance in the form of:

  • Equipment repairs

  • Scheduled routine maintenance

  • Installation of new products

  • Educating customers, technically on all Vyaire products.

  • Offering telephone technical assistance and support as and when required.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Complete all repairs according to Vyaire standards in a timely manner

  • Complete all necessary documentation to effect repairs in compliance with the quality system

  • Accurate and timely reporting to include, but not exclusively, Activity, customer reports, complain reporting within the specified time.

  • Comply with Vyaire Complaint report policy.

  • Maintenance, calibration and safekeeping of tools and test equipment

  • Maintenance of a car stock to operate efficiently to support the customer

  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of all working practices

  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with other departments and colleagues

  • Assist the Sales team in the promotion of Vyaire products with technical support

  • Conduct technical training as requested

  • Provide on call emergency cover nationally as requested

  • Perform any other duties, as necessary, to comply with business priorities

  • Comply with all elements of the quality system

Education

  • HNC (or equivalent) in electronics/equivalent subject or

  • Suitable experience or proven ability in a similar role

Competencies

  • Proven experience of technical product servicing and repair in the field/workshop, preferably with experience of working within a hospital environment

  • Conscientious approach to work

  • Clear communication skills

  • Strong organisation skills

  • Good knowledge of computers, database administration, networking and interfacing to Medical Devices

  • Assist sales team by identifying sales leads and offering support during tenders, demos and joint site visits

  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects

  • Positive and professional attitude

  • Good customer orientation and problem-solving skills

  • Flexible attitude and ability to handle changing priorities

  • Team member, willing to act on behalf of team

  • Valid and current driving licence

Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook and internet applications
