Spinvi DevSecOps Engineering Lead in United States

Core4ce is hiring a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to manage a team that performs containerization engineering, virtualization engineering, cloud engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, system administration, configuration management, cybersecurity, training curriculum development, technical support, test and evaluation, lifecycle logistics, and sustainment for a large DoD program. The ideal candidate would be well-versed in various cloud offerings with a heavy emphasis on AWS GovCloud and be capable of iteratively engineering solutions that would consider and incorporate on-premise, hybrid, and cloud requirements. The position requires someone with an engineering and programmatic execution background who possesses the polish and business acumen to be client facing and able to manage a team.


  • Lead a team of DevSecOps engineers as they develop and iterate upon existing container environments

  • Provide expertise and guidance to the team as they engineer new container services

  • Sustain existing container orchestration systems

  • Integrate new services into the container ecosystem

  • Support system architecture design and implementation efforts

  • Manage container ingress and egress configurations

  • Manage accounts and network rights

  • Manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability

  • Implement security procedures and tools

  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures

  • Resolve significant hardware/software interface and interoperability issues

  • Ensure system availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency

  • Maintain systems configuration in a sustainable manner

  • Manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements

  • Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices

  • Interact directly with customers onboarding to the container environment in a shared cluster environment

  • Brief government sponsors daily on progress


  • Accredited BS degree in a technical field and fifteen (15) years of operating system and/or cloud hosting experience, or fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience with IT projects supporting Medical Health Systems or other Federal systems in a virtualized hosting environment (Advanced degrees may replace experience).

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading a team of engineers.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of hands on experience as a system administrator, preferably on RHEL-based systems.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of hands on experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting container based systems, particularly with products such as Rancher and/or RedHat Openshift.

  • Experience maintaining compliance of container based systems using STIGS, CIS or organizational-based security policy.

  • Understanding of essential network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, and Iptables.

  • Understanding of the requirements for day to day support operations maintaining container workloads and deployment pipelines.

  • Understanding of the requirements for day to day support operations providing configuration updates to meet user requirements on all container systems and services.

  • Understanding of Linux based operating systems and Linux based networking.

  • Experience with user account management and associated DoD security practices.

  • Knowledge of cloud services and components such as virtual private clouds, security groups, and native load balancers.


  • 8570 IAT Level II Certification

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent work experience in Kubernetes systems administration.


  • Ability to travel up to 0-5%


  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Additional Qualifications that are considered a plus:

  • Experience working in the Defense Health Agency hosting environment.

  • Experience working in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment with an Agile methodology.

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform or Helm.

  • Experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CI/CD pipelines, using technologies such as Gitlab CI, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, CircleCI, TravisCI.
