Overview – Role
Jensen Hughes is seeking a Project Manager, Fire & Life Safety for managing a complex remote project in Saudi Arabia. This strategic growth position calls for professional expertise in the fire protection industry, designing, managing and supervising technically complex projects.
In this role you will work with the International Codes and standards such as NFPA, IFC, IBC, GCC fire code., as well as the ARAMCO, SABIC, HCIS and GCC countries Civil Defense requirements, supervising and inspecting the sites to ensure project quality, consistency and timely delivery, building professional partnership with clients, governmental institutions and other multi-level stakeholders while leading a team of 3-6members comprising of Engineers , Supervisors and Designers. This role requires you to be based at a remote site in the western region of Saudi Arabia, with 8 weeks on site and 2 weeks remote working.

Responsibilities
Interface and coordinate with Civil Defense or Local Authority, Contractors, and Clients to obtain all required certificates for occupancy covering all Fire & Life Safety projects aspects - drawings review, Installations, Testing and Commissioning for Fire and Life Safety systems, managing team schedules, delivery and approvals
Manage the installation and commissioning, testing, inspections & audit for Fire Detection and Alarm systems, Automatic Extinguishing systems, Emergency power systems and Smoke Control systems including the documentation requirements
Understand and apply the project contract to the execution of the work, cognizant of business opportunities with current clients both in terms of new work and current contract
Preparation of Fire & Life Safety calculations and technically complex reports including Fire Strategy reports and presentations for the management and clients
Execute work in a manner compliant with the project budget and schedule identifying errors and recommending corrective actions as and when required
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, (preferably Electrical/ Mechanical/Fire & Life Safety or related field), ideally working towards becoming a Chartered engineer.
15+ years of project experience covering all aspects starting from the design phase till project handover to the client and obtaining relevant authority approvals
Proven experience in managing teams along with proficiency in using engineering software and tools related to fire protection design including AutoCAD and Revit
Proven site experience covering installation, commissioning and testing of Fire Protection, Suppression & Fire Alarm systems
Proven experience in reviewing designs related to systems such as sprinklers, standpipe, hydrant, clean agent, smoke management, fire alarm, voice evacuation etc.
Proven experience in liaising with local Authority, Contractors, and Clients to obtain all required certificates for occupancy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies and able to undertake work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
