Avantor, Inc. Business Development Manager in Australia

Job SummaryThis position has accountability and authority for both direct and distributor sales activities in Australia and to develop new business opportunities in accordance with business unit strategy. Responsible for opportunity identification and qualification, as well as proposing new creative solutions and strategies to ensure customer satisfaction and business growth.


  1. To meet and or exceed the Annual Sales and Margin target by driving day-to-day business development and marketing in ANZ

  2. Lead in the execution of the territory sales/marketing plan to effectively promote and sell Avantor & VWR products

  3. Identify and satisfy customer requirements by communicating the value of our products.

  4. Establish strong business relationships with our distributors and key customers.

  5. Develop, train, manage and motivate our distribution channel on products and services.

  6. Implement sales opportunities with application engineers and manage the process (if a need arises).

  7. Manage, develop and renew existing dealer/client opportunities while identifying and create new dealers in key market segments to drive and sustain continuous growth across ANZ .

  8. Support the creation and delivery of marketing campaigns.

  9. Support development marketing plans to achieve objectives set out.

  10. Maintains awareness of business and market environment and competitors’ activities.

  11. Execution of functions according to company credit policies.

    Any other assignments given by supervisor towards positive contributions to the success of the company.


  • Bachelor’s degree in life science related field.

  • 5 years or more relevant commercial experiences.

  • Familiar with reagent and chemical related product portfolio.

  • Experience in channel management and direct sales management


  • Passion in liaising with internal and external customers

  • A team-player who is able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be highly personable; possess excellent influential leadership and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented personality, excellent personal organization and time management skills

  • Solution selling, negotiations skills, managing major accounts
