Position Summary

DroneUp is seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to work with department leaders and suppliers driving key deliverables and outcomes to achieve organizational goals. This role partners with teams of technical product, systems engineering and IT experts to deliver robust and scalable solutions that meet stakeholder needs.

In this role, you will provide hands-on System Engineering support ensuring project objectives are met, from concept and initial discussions through detailed planning, design, development, testing, integration, production and deployment. The role is responsible for high-level system architecture & requirements, and establishing practices, methods, and standards across systems engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and oversee systems of systems for DroneUp’s Hardware Product Portfolio.

  • Own documentation of overall systems architecture, drive alignment between relevant stakeholders

  • Translate broad visions and concepts into actionable plans, measurable outcomes, and provide governance of the processes and implementation of plans

  • Develop and manage Requirements; Plan for verification and validation.

  • Enforce quality metrics across systems engineering processes.

  • Support the development, design, and delivery of aligned organizational objectives.

  • Facilitate effective decision-making, risk mitigation, and issue resolution.

  • Coordinate retrospectives and lead continual improvement activities across systems engineering teams

  • Ensure timely decision-making, risk mitigation, and resolution of issues, engaging with business stakeholders and senior leaders as appropriate to ensure continued progress

  • Understand and navigate dependencies, risks, priorities, and value realization blockers within the organization – strategic, financial, and operational

  • Drive the transformation towards an agile development organization.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering roles.

  • Proficiency in Systems Modelling Tools like MagicDraw, Capella, Enterprise Architect.

  • Proficiency in Model-based Systems Engineering standards like UML or SysML

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and transformation programs.

  • Strong financial acumen and previous budget and resource management responsibilities.

  • Deep understanding of SDLC, PDLC, V-Model, and Agile principles.

Salary

Just like drones themselves, your earning potential can soar to new heights, but it largely depends on your qualifications and expertise. If you are recognized as an industry expert, your earning potential can take true flight. The target salary range for this position is $125,000 to $165,000. Your unique qualifications and contributions to the field will play a significant role in determining your precise compensation. The total rewards for this position may also include; potential for annual bonuses, benefits package, paid time off, and more.
