The St. Regis Venice, a newly opened hotel belonging to Marriott International is currently recruiting for an Accounts Receivable who will report to the Director of Finance. The Accounts Receivable is responsible for ensuring excellent levels of compliance with all national and local regulations as well as Marriott International Policies and Procedures.

What you’ll do
Prepare statements for outstanding C/L account.
Collect payments to City Ledger Accounts daily.
Answer guest and credit card inquiries concerning accounts including the documentation and preparation of adjustments if necessary on a timely basis.
Prepare and maintain complete, accurate and organized records for all outstanding accounts as directed by the Manager.
Ensure all Travel Agent payments are properly reviewed/verified, audited and all Travel Agents have valid IATA number (or equivalent) and ensure that payments are not made for non-commissionable transactions and the Travel Agent is eligible to receive payment.
Review group and catering contracts, establish understanding of billing arrangements and follow up on deposits and prepayments.
Assist the Income Auditor, if necessary, in reconciling the City Ledger totals.
Reviewing, researching credit worthiness of applicants and approving or denying direct billing requests
Proactively supervising all credit documents, such as credit applications and Write Offs
Maintaining & ensuring a detailed and exhaustive listing & documentation of all credit & collection calls
Instructing other departments on the appropriate observance of the most correct procedures regarding credit policies, in order to ensure adherence to the agreed rules
Preparing credit procedures for all departments
Proactively reviewing bills on a daily basis, in order to constantly ensure that credit limit is not exceeded
Working closely with Sales Dept., Catering & Conference Services, Front Office Manager and Front Office personnel where required
Printing and reviewing Aging Report on a daily basis
Preparing 30/60/90 + day detail on Accounts Receivable Aging report with the supervision of the Assistant Director of Finance and of the Director of Finance
Always making meaningful suggestions to improve and promote potential solutions to any problem
Preparing and sending the bills to whom of competence and ensuring payment is received in the respect of the default deadline
Check figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes
Organise, secure and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents
Classify, code and summarise numerical and financial data to maintain accurate financial records using journals, ledgers and electronic spreadsheets
Prepare and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing or payroll reports and tables
Complete period-end closing procedures and reports
Maintain confidentiality of information, protecting the privacy and security of guests and co-workers
What we’re looking for
Advanced level in English and fluent Italian (both writing and speaking)
Previous accounting experience within the hospitality industry is a big plus
Understanding of accounting operations and luxury hospitality
