Red Oak Recovery Clinical Technician in US, North Carolina

The Willows at Red Oak Recovery is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Asheville N.C. We are a clinically dynamic, trauma intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program designed specifically for the unique needs of young adult women, ages 18-35. Our focus is on clinical care, and we utilize the latest research-supported clinical modalities to ensure positive outcomes.

  • Roles and Responsibilities:*

  • Provide the highest level of physical and emotional safety to our clients

  • Manage client groups (6-10 people) and facilitate the weekly program schedule

  • Work as part of a treatment team in order to provide clients with the highest level of clinical care

  • Empower clients to take responsibility for their actions

  • Promote and encourage clients to make healthy decisions

  • Teach coping strategies and emotional regulation skills to our clients

  • When schedule indicates lead clients in adventure activities while maintaining the highest level of physical and emotional safety

  • Introduce clients to the 12-step modality and normalize that process for those who may be unfamiliar with 12-step recovery

  • Dispense medications to clients on time and accurately. Document medication dispensing

  • Responsible for completion of daily administrative tasks as indicated by Residential Manager

  • Minimum Qualifications:*

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Minimum HS Diploma (or equivalent)

  • Current Adult CPR/Basic First Aid/AED Certification (Red Oak Recovery will provide)

  • Preferred Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related mental health field

  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills

  • Personal and/or professional experience with 12 Step Recovery, Substance Abuse Treatment, Mental Health Treatment and/or Wilderness Therapy

  • Experience with managing groups in a residential setting
