JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Graduate School at Penn State is seeking to hire a Graphic Design Specialist to join the Marketing and Strategic Communications team, which is charged with elevating the profile of the Graduate School, highlighting the graduate education community, and providing marketing and communications support to units within the Graduate School.

This position will be filled at the Professional or Intermediate Professional level depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications.

Responsibilities: As a Graphic Design Specialist, you would:

  • develop a cohesive, consistent look for all Graduate School marketing materials, including flyers, posters, brochures, email templates, slide templates, programs, social media graphics, webpage graphics, and more

  • ensure that all materials adhere to Penn State’s branding and accessibility guidelines

  • serve as photographer at Graduate School events

  • create and edit visual content that showcases the diversity and impact of Penn State’s graduate student community, which includes more than 14,000 students in more than 300 programs

  • assist with the production of promotional videos

  • assist with the promotion of major Graduate School initiatives, including the Graduate Exhibition, Commencement, awards ceremonies, and more

  • provide support and guidance to Graduate School staff related to multimedia solutions

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for the Professional level; Associate's degree and 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, for the Intermediate Professional. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  • Candidate must be skilled with both graphic design and photography

  • Must be creative, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $74,000.00
