NJM Insurance Subrogation Claims Rep in Trenton, New Jersey

Here at NJM, our General Claims department in West Trenton, NJ is looking for a Subrogation Claims Representative candidate who has excellent communication skills, as well as strong organizational and time management skills.

Salary: Level I – $48k - $55k annually based on experience

Level II – $55k+ annually based on experience Senior Level – $73+ annually based on experience

Schedule: Variety of shift Monday-Friday


  • Receive and process subrogation claims, seeking recoveries from adverse parties and/or their insurance carriers.

  • Thoroughly review, evaluate and investigate subrogation claims to obtain necessary information for prompt resolution.

  • Negotiate subrogation claims and resolve liability and/or damage disputes for successful recoveries. Efficiently credit recovery checks and issue deductible payments to our insured.

  • Claims are settled and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable state negligence laws.

  • Professionally respond and communicate on all subrogation related issues.

  • Provide excellent customer service to our policyholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Level I – Customer service experience or experience interacting with the public in a professional setting is required or Bachelor’s degree.

  • Level II – Minimum 2 years with Property Damage, Auto Claims, or Subrogation experience.

  • Senior Level – Minimum 4 years with Property Damage, Auto Claims or Subrogation experience and completion of AIC or CPCU designation

  • License to adjust claims in Texas or Connecticut is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus

  • Knowledge of Claims or Personal Lines are a plus

  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills

  • Technical aptitude, including working knowledge with Microsoft Office

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment

  • Must be detail oriented, organized and possess strong time management skills

  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving and strong decision-making skills.
