Mercury Systems Software Engineer I in Torrance, California

In this role, you have the opportunity to be a part of a world-class Engineering Team for the Mission Systems Business Unit, a leading provider of safety-certifiable avionics, mission-critical, and Electronic Warfare solutions. You are responsible for * Modifying existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance * Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate the interfaces between hardware and software, developing specifications and performance requirements, and resolving customer problems * Conferring with engineering staff and project managers to obtain information for assigned projects * Working on problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors * Updating knowledge and skills to keep up with rapid advancements in computer technology * Preparing reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and status * Developing code in Windows and Linux environments using C++/C# * Working on both GUI applications and Real-time applications To apply for this role, you must have the following skills and experience: * Completing in 2022 or has completed a BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering * C++ programming experience * Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with engineers from other disciplines * Experience with parallel and/or distributed computing concepts * Experience working within a team environment * Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders * Experience with MS Office tool suite To succeed in this role, the following skills and experience are highly preferred: * Real-time embedded experience * C# programming experience * Experience Visual Studio * Experience with WPF is a plus * Experience with Real-time Linux * Experience with Source Control (Git, Bitbucket, etc.) * Experience with Scrum, Agile methodologies * Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) Why should you join Mercury Systems?
