BMO Financial Group Manager, Credit Reporting Integrated Testing in Toronto, Ontario


The manger is accountable to manages user acceptance testing (UAT) planning, execution and coordination across all Credit Reporting applications and ensure that all relevant business stakeholders are engaged in the process. The manager must also ensure that testing is comprehensive and addresses the needs of our business partners as well as ensuring that testing meets BMO standards. Responsibilities also include managing the defect process, ensuring that proper communication is maintained with CR owners, other testing groups and impacted business end-users. At the completion of UAT testing, the manager leads the business review sessions and obtains sign-off approvals from accountable executives.

The manager is also accountable for the monthly production support of Credit Reporting applications as it relates to data validation checks, review of implemented processes and data mining in support of Credit Reporting process.

Database Change Management

Maintain effective relationships with CAG, Risk Data Services, ERPM and T&O representatives to ensure that throughout the user acceptance planning and execution process, all appropriate stakeholders are properly engaged and expectations are fulfilled.

Analyze business scope and requirements, participate in requirements meetings and DRS reviews in order to gather use case scenarios, prepare test approach and design relevant test cases.

Develop detailed Test Plan and Strategy and ensure that adhere to timeline and business partners constraints.

Collaborate with the Senior Consultant Basel Solutioning on requirements documentation. Coordinate with T&O on resource availability (i.e. test data and environments), UAT pre-conditions validation (i.e. internal sign-offs) and alignment of tasks as part of the regular status discussions.

Work with business teams to define and communicate business requirements for UAT defects and enhancements.

Work with T&O to manage the defects and to ensure resolutions are implemented.

Responsible to ensure that senior management is always kept abreast of testing progress.

Prepare final results reports, lead the stakeholder review sessions, explain and provide analytics to business.

Responsible to ensure all UAT testing is executed and documented according to the newly adopted enterprise UAT Policy and that accountable executive approvals are obtained.

Work with Manager Basel Planning & Prioritization and provide milestones for the monthly Basel UAT calendar

Responsible for Credit Reporting BOBJ reports which are based on existing IFRS9 and BCL Basel Common Layer data

Additional responsibilities related to Credit Reporting include consultations with other team members on IFRS9 methodology changes, review of implemented processes and data mining in support of Credit Reporting process improvement and adherence to evolving requirements.

Client & Relationship Management

Participate on projects and act as a subject matter expert to ensure financial information is reported completely and accurately.

Build strong relationships and provide value add advice to LOB Finance to ensure financial results are well understood and business results optimized.

Support financial performance activities, providing business group decision makers with financial information, advice and counsel.

Risk Management, Control, and Financial Governance

Provide information and support the process for internal (Corporate and SOX) and external audits ensuring that requests are managed effectively and efficiently, where applicable.

Change & Innovation

Optimize the use of new technology and information systems updates to improve processes and system efficiencies

Support the operationalization of business/function change initiatives to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency from a finance perspective.

Collaborate with finance colleagues to support changes within the finance team


Professional degree in Business, Finance, or designated accounting degree; or equivalent experience.

Sound knowledge of User Acceptance testing methodologies

3-5 years working with Basel reporting applications from either a development of testing lead perspective

Detailed knowledge of all or some of BMO’s Basel reporting processes and applications (BCAR, BOBJ, CAT, JMF, NCR).

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.

Strong integrated testing management skills, including ability to develop efficient and comprehensive test cases across multiple applications.

Good ability to manage relationships with business partners, and anticipate, assess and meet their needs in a mutually beneficial manner, taking action to manage expectations and to resolve differences in a positive manner.

Experience with issue tracking and reporting to ensure that testing defects are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.

Strong ability to manipulate and understand data results.

Good knowledge of BMO’s financial applications and systems.

Strongproject management skills and experience in planning, coordinating, tracking, and controlling multiple initiatives.

Broad understanding of the Basel III framework and reporting requirements.

Good understanding of the Bank’s financial systems and processes.

Ability to communicate and articulate coherent complex concepts or arguments with clarity, including good presentation skills.

Effective team leadership, including good resource planning skills and strong understanding of cultural dynamics.

Good ability to influence and engage others.
