ProMedica Health System HR Representative - ProMedica Senior Care in Toledo, Ohio

ProMedica Senior Care - Formerly HCR ManorCare provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy.

Job Summary: Facilitates employee life cycle (i.e. orientation, payroll, termination); assists in planning, coordinating and conducting all required training programs; advises department heads and supervisors on proper human resources procedures.

Responsibilities: 1. Assists in planning, coordinating and conducting all required in-service programs and/or special training sessions in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and/or corporate requirements including new employee orientation. 2. Establishes and maintains effective two-way communication to understand the needs and concerns of employees; communicates employee attitudes and expectations to higher management; properly manages employees’ personal information; recommends changes in policies and practices wherever employee needs are not being met. 3. Advises department heads and supervisors on proper procedures regarding progressive discipline, termination activity, performance reviews and planning, etc. to ensure consistency in policy interpretation and application. 4. Monitors the disciplinary process for consistency. 5. Responds to inquiries from Unemployment Claims Administrator by providing documentation supporting separations. 6. Manages HR Service Center Audit Reports (i.e. License Verifications, Drug Testing Audit, Remote Personnel File Audit, Credit Check Report, Late Close Report). 7. Coordinates the policy exception process. 8. Processes terminations for COBRA. 9. Performs post-employment and exit interviews, as necessary. 10. Ensures new employee personnel files are complete. 11. Coordinates planning, organizing and implementing employee activities, including award presentations, celebrations, sports teams, employee recognition programs, etc. 12. Takes responsibility for processing Corporate employee payroll additions and changes (i.e. new hire, direct deposit, termination). 13. Enters all new hires into system, including direct deposit information 14. Attends and participates in scheduled in-service programs and staff meetings. * 15. Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste. 16. Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride. 17. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required.

  • Experience: Three to five years in Human Resources required.

  • Physical Demands: Primarily light in nature with lifting less than ten pounds; sitting, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing and seeing.

  • Travel: N/A

  • Working Conditions: Primarily inside in well-lighted, well ventilated areas.

  • Principal Contacts: Corporate executive management, all levels of corporate and facility staff, outside vendors and business representatives.

  • Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
