- Serving as a Branch Chief, senior IT Specialist, and lead network architect in the area of network architecture and problem/incident control.
- Developing problem control/incident management standards, policies, plans and procedures and leading development of automated tools to implement approved programs throughout the program community.
- Providing oversight for implementation of problem/incident management programs.
- Assessing periodic contractor reports of performance, analyzing performance data to identify summaries, trends and potential problem areas, and re-evaluates key effectiveness criteria on a continuing basis.
- Overseeing the work of all staff resources including government and contractor personnel, coordinates and overseeing Branch operations, and providing administrative guidance as needed.
- Making substantive recommendations on system designs, contributing substantively to IT program planning, budgeting and scheduling, and providing expert assessments of costs and benefits of problem control/incident management.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS14 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS13 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
Attention to Detail Customer Service Oral Communication Problem Solving Specialized Experience:
For the GS-14, at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-13 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as performing and managing or directing work in local area/wide area networking and cable plants, conducting Infrastructure Tiered Support evaluation and oversight activities, and providing technical management advisory services to Division Leadership.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
