Job Description:

We currently have an opportunity for an LPN or Medical Assistant to support our Endocrinology Department at our HealthPartners St. Paul Specialty Center A successful candidate will effectively provide a quality level of service to both internal and external customers. They will also carry out nursing tasks and medical orders as delegated by physicians and registered nurses to support patient care. They are responsible for roomin, vitals, assisting suture removal, administering injections for numbing of skin and surrounding area, setting up sterile trays and suture trays, applying wound dressings and taking medical history of patients prior to procedures.At HealthPartners, you’ll find a culture where we live our values of excellence, compassion, integrity, and most importantly, partnership. WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week

Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm LOCATIONS: St. Paul 401 Specialty Center


Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Current LPN licensure in Minnesota

Current CPR certification required within 6 months of hire and maintain.

One-year full-time employment as a LPN preferred.

Demonstration of written and oral communication skills required.


Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must possess speech, hearing and sight skills to perform the functions of the position. Manual dexterity required. Must be able to speak, read and write English proficiently. Proficiency in other languages may be required. Some positions may have lifting requirements.

Nursing Process:

Definition: a licensed practical nurse uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) under the supervision of an RN or physician in order to provide continuing healthcare to individuals, families and the community.

Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.

Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.

Assist patients to achieve basic health care goals.

Identify patient education needs, provide instruction and refer appropriately.

Document observations, actions and patient outcomes.

Nursing Care:

Provide safe, accurate and clinically competent direct care to patients and families.

Recognize patient’s abnormalities or urgent problems and seek appropriate assistance.

Obtain health history information. Obtain accurate vital signs, recognize and report variances.

Implement established Group Health Policies and Procedures.

Patient Instruction:

Teach techniques or provide information according to established program.


Accurately and appropriately document procedures and treatment in each patient’s record.

Information Processing:

Appropriately communicate information to other members of the health care team. Provide the patient and family with current and accurate information regarding the procedure and care.

Perform telephone screening under direction of RN or MD.

Technical and Ethical Competency:

Definition: This includes knowledge, self-direction, accountability and ability to function within Group Health policies, philosophies and procedures.

Assure patients’ rights to privacy, safety and confidentiality.

Continuing Education:

Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.

Maintain CPR certification.
