AbbVie Canada is looking to connect with Associate Pricing Manager talents to join our Market Access team. The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager, Market Access/Health Economics & Pricing.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading price adjustment recommendation process to achieve optimal revenues throughout the different product portfolio and customer channels while respecting federal regulations and provincial policies in place.

  • Leading AbbVie PMPRB reporting obligations for all reported products and manage any investigations of PMPRB alleged claims of “excess revenues” against AbbVie product portfolio.

  • Partnering and coordinating with the Market Access/HEOR managers and other cross-functional relevant groups within AbbVie to provide strategic pricing recommendations relevant to payers and taking into consideration PMPRB Regulations and Guidelines.

  • Developing and leveraging robust, data-driven business cases for pricing recommendation and/or approval. This includes vigilance on movements of competitor pricing and pricing regulations to ensure AbbVie is competitively positioned while ensuring internally and externally compliant pricing practices.

  • Tracking federal, provincial and payers pricing policies impacting the pharmaceutical industry and ensuring appropriate internal awareness with relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Supporting the operationalization of internal pricing guidance, policies and procedures specific to AbbVie. This includes AbbVie Global and Area internal reporting obligations processes.

  • Establishing and nurturing positive working relationships with our internal functions and AbbVie Global and Area offices.


Education requirements:

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Science, Health Sciences or Business; graduate studies in one or more of these fields is an asset


  • The ideal candidate should have between 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position, and ideally expertise in market access with pertinent experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including previous experience directly dealing with PMPRB Regulations and Guidelines management

  • Understands different components of drug pricing in the context of Pricing & Reimbursement/ Health Technology Assessment requirements

  • Additional commercial/ business background an asset

Skills required:

  • Strong strategic & analytical thinking: ability to understand, synthetize and communicate complex concepts and outcomes and build associated executive reports & presentations

  • Proven ability to work within a cross-functional team and within a large organization

  • Can work independently and autonomously, detailed oriented, resilient, well organized, strong multi-tasking and project management skills

  • Ability to adapt to evolving customer needs/demands within a changing environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to manage conflict constructively.

  • Strong communicator with presentations skills in French and English, oral and written. Must be at advanced level in both languages

Knowledge required:

  • Experience in analytics/business insights

  • Solid experience with Excel, SAP and database analytics

  • Ability to develop or adapt Excel-based models using various data inputs (both structured and unstructured)

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Outlook
